How did you get into wedding planning?
I have been in the hospitality industry since the age of 18. I fell in love with customer service, great food and the thrill that came from being a part of exceeding expectations and making someones day. I was first introduced to the wedding industry when working in Queenstown NZ at Matakauri Lodge and Amisfield Winery, 2 very iconic and high end venues.
I worked as a part of teams of passionate people who went above and beyond to achieve the end result of a beautiful event and I have since loved being a part of couples special day. I also continue to be blown away by love at each and every wedding. (I might wipe away a tear to two!)
What is it you LOVE about wedding planning?
Having worked in the industry for over 15 years I love being able to point couples in the direction of great suppliers. There are So.Many.Options out there that it can he incredibly difficult to find the right person/price who delivers what they promise. It’s really rewarding to help couples skip the bulk of the research part, sifting out hundreds of suppliers who don’t fit what they are looking for, and connect them instead immediately with awesome suppliers.
To me, wedding planning is about allowing the couple to focus on what the day is about, and allowing someone else to worry about the details, run around in the rain changing set up requirements, ushering guests to the spots they need to be – etc. It’s about taking the stress off you, and I love that
Favourite wedding trend?
Trends come and go and I’m a big believer in going for a look that you LOVE. I personally adore the lush green look – overflowing bouquets, hanging greens and garlands – *swoon*!
Greenery can be paired with natural wood or vintage items or can be glammed up with a hint of gold. Beautiful!
