Wedding Candy Bar Inspiration You Don’t Want to Miss

Having a candy bar at the wedding is definitely going to be popular with all the guests, and it’s not hard to see why – we all love choices, especially when they are this sweet. Plus, this delicious buffet also doubles as a décor piece, so you could even match it to your wedding theme. If this sounds like something that would be perfect for your wedding, here are a couple of ideas that might inspire you to come up with your own unique dessert bar that your guests won’t be able to get enough of.
For a rustic wedding
If the theme of your wedding is more rustic or casual, consider serving a smaller cake and setting up a doughnut buffet with different flavours and toppings. You can decorate the table with some rustic elements in neutral colours, and you can hang a chalkboard sign that invites the guests to help themselves. This idea shouldn’t cost you much, and it’s great for creating a more relaxed atmosphere.

Use the same theme
Your main wedding theme or colour palette should be incorporated into your candy bar as well. So, for example, if you’re going for an all-white wedding, think about serving powdered doughnuts, vanilla pudding with whipped cream, white macaroons, etc. There is a type of candy for every colour palette, and luckily, there are many fantastic catering companies in Sydney that will make sure your candy is delivered in gorgeously decorated bottles and jars that can fit any theme.
For something more vintage
If you like the vintage theme, you should focus on the details. Place your desserts on an antique bar cart, use different fabrics like lace or burlap, and wrap ribbons around the candy-filled Mason jars. If you want your vintage style to be a bit more luxurious, you can add a nice lace or sheer backdrop and a few silver decorations.
Pay attention to details
Don’t just arrange your candy on the bar however it can fit – the presentation is just as important as the taste of the sweets. So, get some cake stands and candy holders of different heights and arrange your sweets in a more visually appealing way, which will give your dessert bar depth, emphasise the more important sweets, and allow the guests to see the full offer instead of just grabbing the first thing in the front.

Think about the season
In case you’re not sure which type of sweets you should include in your candy bar, think about the season. Are you getting married in summer? Offer something lighter that can help your guests freshen up, like fruit cups, frozen yoghurt pops, and of course, ice cream. On the other hand, if you’re organising a winter wedding, let your guests indulge in molten lava cakes, sweet churros, warm puddings spiced up with cinnamon, and hot chocolate to warm them up. Use the weather in your favour, and you can’t go wrong with the desserts.
Label everything
Don’t just let your guests taste all the wonderful desserts without telling them what those sweets are – they will want to know the name of that heavenly cake. So, label all the candy that you offer with some nicely decorated cards. It might help them decide which dessert to try next, and knowing the names of the sweets will allow them to look for the recipe of their favourite one later.

Can it ever be too much?
You might think that there’s never too much candy, but you don’t really want to be left with more sweets than you know what to do with. As unlikely as that sounds, you should always pay attention to the amount of food you serve at any kind of celebration, and the wedding dessert is no exception. Therefore, take into consideration the number of guests and the amount of food you’ll be serving before the dessert, and you should have no problems with the leftovers.
The dessert is one of the most important parts of every wedding, so make yours both delicious and memorable. Finally, make sure there is enough candy for everybody since they will surely be coming back to the bar for more.
